In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song at the time within the space of six months. The single Despacito which was a mix of pop music with reggaeton, not only brought new attention to reggaeton music but also brought more attention to Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish tracks in 2016 and two songs in 2015. At the peak of Despacito's popularity in 2017, however, 19 mostly Spanish songs made it into the Top 100, and in 2020 there were 41 such songs. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017. In the year following, popular artists began working together with reggaeton groups. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018) and Madonna was a part of Medellin with Maluma (2019). The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became a concern for some performers during the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, wanted to preserve the style. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music and other forms.
